Färjestad (pronounced farry-ah-STOD) are based in the city of Karlstad and play in the Löfbergs Arena.
They have been one of the most successful teams in the top-tier of Swedish hockey since the Elitserien was launched in 1975.
They’ve won the Gold Medal 10 times since that point, most recently in 2022. Färjestad are usually a contender and that was especially the case in the late 1990s and 2000s. In 15 seasons from 1996-97 to 2010-11 inclusive, they made the Elitserien final 10 times, winning on 6 occasions.
