Pronounced Linn-SHER-ping, Linköping have been in the top-tier of Swedish hockey consistently from 2002-03. The big prize has eluded them during that period. They came closest when they reached the final in back-to-back seasons in 2006-07 and 2007-08 only to come out on the losing end to MoDo and HV71 respectively.
Linköping had gone five years without a play-off appearance until 2023-24 when they finished the regular season in 6th place. Unfortunately for them, they were quickly dispatched in the best-of-seven series 4-0 by eventual winners Skellefteå. Head Coach Klas Östman will hope that his team can take confidence from their good regular season, whilst being driven to greater heights by the disappointment of their swift play-off exit.
