Pronounced Lek-sond, they have primarily been a second-tier Swedish team over the past 30 years. They bounced between the SHL and Hockey Allsvenskan during the 2010s, but have managed to stay in the SHL since they were promoted again at the end of the 2018-19 season.
Spelling note: the team is based in the city of Leksand and that is how you spell the team’s name on its own.
If you are referring to the full formal name then you put an ‘s’ at the end of Leksand so that it is Leksands IF. The IF stands for Idrottsförening (sports association) so it is essentially “Leksand’s sports association”, only without an apostrophe between the d and s.
