Podcast Episode 11

by Matthew Smith

The podcast is back for 2024, slightly delayed after an extended Christmas break, but with plenty to catch up on.

NHL

We review some of the big stories from the past couple of weeks in the NHL, including William Nylander’s big money contract extension with the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Cutter Gauthier trade.

International update

Next up is the World Juniors, a segment that predominantly sees me moaning about the fact that most of us hockey fans around the world were unable to watch it (thanks again, IIHF!).

Champions Hockey League

The return legs of the 2024 CHL Semi-Finals take place tomorrow, Tuesday 16th, so it was the perfect time to look back at the first legs and to preview who might prevail.

Swedish Hockey League

And we take a look at some of the key recent news and results in Sweden, where reigning SHL champions Växjö are now just a single point behind long-time league leaders Färjestad and struggling Örebro have decided to appoint a new (old) Head Coach.

The full podcast can be found on all major platforms (Spotify, Apple etc) and a video excerpt of the CHL section is on our YouTube channel.
